tolerable, middling, Irish cuibheasach, decent, pretty good, fairly good (in health), cuibheas, decency, cuibhe, decent. See cubhaidh for stem. The Irish cuibhe shows that it is possible to derive the word from *con-vesu-, root vesu of feabhas.
